Sutton & Wandle Valley Ramblers

The Ramblers' Association Sutton & Wandle Valley Group

Welcome to Sutton & Wandle Valley Ramblers

The Sutton and Wandle Valley Group was formed in 1995 and currently has around 600 members. The group covers the London Borough of Sutton, a large part of the London Borough of Merton and the village of Banstead, and is one of fifteen groups in the Surrey Area of the Ramblers'Association.

The group has a varied programme of walks and most weeks there at least three walks to choose from. The wide variety of walks means that all abilities are catered for. The programme is circulated every four months to enable members to plan ahead and members are encouraged to receive the programme by email, where possible, in order to save on postage.

The group is always pleased to welcome visiting walkers including those who are not members of the Ramblers'Association who are welcome to join us for two or three occasions but would then be expected to join the Ramblers' Association if they want to walk with us again.

In addition to the programmed walks two coach trips are organised each year, one in the spring and one in the autumn. These trips are always very popular.

Two social events are held each year. A post Christmas lunch is held in January and a summer lunch in July. Normally there is an optional short walk befrore each meal.

Apart from the walking section of the Group there are also committee members dedicated to ensuring that overgrown paths and any planning proposals affecting pathways are studied and representations made where necessary.
